St Martin's Vision, by Helen Williams
Details
This piece was written in 2007 and revised in 2013 for a patronal festival at St Martin's Church. St Martin was a Roman soldier famous for giving half his cloak to help a beggar keep warm. His biographer Septimius Severus also records that Martin later had a vision of Jesus, who reminded him of His gospel words that whatever we do for the least of His brethren, we do for Him.
St Martin has two feast days, 11th November and 4th July.
